If the worst does happen, our in-house Claims team is there to give help when it’s needed the most.  We are excited to offer a rare opportunity to work as a Commercial Motor Claims Negotiator within our Commercial Claims Team in Twickenham.

What you'll do

As a member of the Commercial Claims Team you will take personal ownership of your own portfolio of claims from start to finish from liaising with insurers, recovery agents and accident management companies, to communicating effectively with clients both over the phone and occasionally face to face.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Take notification from clients, setting up new claims and determining the right course of action from start to finish
  •  Co-ordinate and provide support to clients on ULR processes
  • Provide Risk Management advice including spotting claim trends and remedial action needed
  • Negotiating with Insurers
  •  Ensure clients are kept fully informed during the claims process
  •  Managing client expectations and assisting them to agree a settlement
  • Producing and collating claims data and analysing trends
  •  Act as a direct referral and training support point for less experienced staff

What you'll need

Must Haves

  • Background in Motor claims handling, accidental damage/ theft losses and Third Party Recoveries
  • Claims data analysis and provision of client reports
  • An ability to provide a positive client experience at all times to demonstrate passion and energy to make a difference to team and company goals
  • Proactive approach, use own initiative as well as working under pressure as part of a team
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships
  • Effective, confident and considerate communication and an ability to adapt your communication style appropriately to your audience
  • Ability to demonstrate a mature outlook with compassion, empathy, high levels of integrity and discretion
  • Passion, energy and the ambition to succeed and grow
  • Intuitive thinking and strong decision making skills
  • A positive approach to learning, taking on board new concepts quickly and executing them with accuracy and diligence
  • IT confidence – experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook and, ideally Acturis (full training provided)

Ideal, but not essential

  • Confident user of MS Excel (Intermediate Level minimum)
  • CII qualified preferred or studying/desire to study towards the qualification
  • Experience of the Acturis system
