Mental Health First Aid (2-day)
This two-day course is aimed at those staff within the organisation who have been identified as potential Mental Health First Aiders. It goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals.
Duration
12 hours (approximate) spread over two days. Ideally, the two days should be consecutive, but in any event must be completed within 6 weeks of the start.
Syllabus
A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:
- What is First Aid for Mental Health?
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Identifying mental health conditions
- Self-harm
- Providing advice and starting a conversation
- Suicide
- Stress
- Eating disorders
- Mental health conditions
- Personality disorders
- Drugs and alcohol
- Bipolar disorder
- First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan
- Psychosis
- First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
- Schizophrenia
- Depression
- Anxiety
Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November
Cost: £250 + VAT per delegate, including course material and refreshments.
