Receive Funding and Lower Your Outgoings
Did you know that you could receive funding to improve health and safety on your premises?
Not only would this contribute to the welfare of your staff, a simple procedure could also save you money on your insurance premium.
Since the 1950s, Sutton Winson has maintained trusted relationships with major insurers and we know what they look for when assessing risk.
If certain H&S measures are in place, it reflects itself in your insurance premium.
HOW SUTTON WINSON CAN HELP
Following reports of slips and trips at a factory producing filled pastries, a Health and Safety Executive* (HSE) inspector found that not enough was being done to prevent manufacturing and ancillary staff
experiencing slip problems.
After the HSE served an Improvement Notice, the introduction of preventative measures was introduced and incidents were reduced by nearly 75%.
The company, however, did more than the recommended minimum and went beyond the specific requirements of the inspector's notice.
Training and guidance was provided regarding various types of flooring, spillages and employees manoeuvring loads.
Co-operation of workers was also encouraged to assess the effects of changing working practices including trials of different footwear.
Flooring with "anti-slip' finishes was installed and new working practices introduced.
As a result, the number of slip accidents dropped more than 75%.
Did you know that Sutton Winson can arrange a site inspection which could lead to a grant funding similar measures at your premises?
